Papyrus 20 (𝔓20) is one of the earliest surviving manuscripts of the Epistle of James. Dating to the early third century, approximately AD 200–250, this ancient fragment preserves portions of James 2:19–3:9, including its powerful teachings on faith demonstrated through action and the great influence of the tongue.

Cataloged as P.Oxy. IX 1171, the fragment was discovered at Oxyrhynchus, Egypt, and published by papyrologists Bernard Grenfell and Arthur Hunt in 1912. Textual scholars Kurt and Barbara Aland classified 𝔓20 as a Category I manuscript, their highest category for early witnesses of exceptional textual importance.
